Team members frequently cross over – bringing Caplogx financial expertise to development projects and Sitelogx operations and real estate expertise to banking projects.
In addition to our advisory work, team members have served as expert witnesses and subject matter experts. A most partners have been appointed as board members of private for-profit and non-profit enterprises.
John Elliott
John serves as the CEO of Sitelogx and Caplogx. He oversees and coordinates all the team’s investment banking and development activities. John’s expertise includes industrial development, valuations, and private-public partnerships. He has advised over twenty ports and industrial development agencies across the United States and has closed over 120 public finance transactions.
John also serves as Chairman of ER Logix—the global development company for EagleRail technology—developing all-electric overhead container conveyance at ports and rail terminals in the Americas, Europe, South Asia, and the Middle East.
Prior to roles at Sitelogx and Caplogx, John served as President of Strategic Rail Finance, Executive Director of several public finance and development agencies, and as President of a US Treasury-certified Community Development Finance Institution. He has also worked ten years as an engineering consultant and senior project manager where he served as a city engineer & planner, leading diverse projects in infrastructure, industrial development, urban redevelopment, and highway planning & design.
John holds a master’s degree in transportation engineering from Michigan State University and studied finance and banking at the University of London. He has been licensed as a professional engineer (PA, MI) and holds Series 63 and 79 investment banking licenses. John is a registered representative of BA Securities, LLC member FINRA, SPIC.
Henry Juan
Henry is an investment banker and attorney serving as President of Caplogx, LLC. Mr. Juan has over 30 years of experience in maritime, transportation and logistics, business financing, debt restructuring, mergers & acquisitions, capital markets, strategic partnerships, corporate law, and contract negotiations.
Prior to his role at Caplogx, Mr. Juan served as an inaugural Board member for the Connecticut Port Authority; an external maritime advisor for McKinsey & Company, as well as Managing Director for several investment banking firms including Seabury Maritime, Young America Capital, and Cypress Associates specializing in infrastructure and transportation investment banking. In addition, he co-founded the Maritime, Logistics and Infrastructure Practice at Skyworks Capital where he initiated capital markets and investment banking coverage.
Mr. Juan holds a L.L.M. Master of Law from Magdalene College, Cambridge University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History and Classics from Williams College where he graduated Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Mr. Juan is a FINRA Registered Representative with Series 7, 24, 63 and 79 licenses and is a registered representative of BA Securities, LLC member FINRA, SPIC. He was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1981 and as a Barrister-At-Law in the UK in 1979.
Daneen Small
Daneen is a Finance and Transportation Analyst at Caplogx where she provides financial analysis, valuation, and business modeling. She also assists Caplogx’s affiliate, Sitelogx, in acquisition diligence. She is a graduate of Temple University’s Fox School of Business in Philadelphia, PA with a Master of Science in Financial Analysis and Quantitative Risk Management.
While earning her Master’s degree, Daneen worked as a research analyst with Berkadia Commercial Mortgage LLC. Daneen also holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics, Applied Mathematics and Statistics from Stony Brook University.
Taylor Rich
Taylor Rich serves as President of Sitelogx, developing rail-oriented industrial properties and leased rail assets. In addition to his work with Sitelogx, Taylor is a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Air Force Reserve. As Commander of the 932 Civil Engineer Squadron at Scott AFB, Mr. Rich ran a 132-Airman unit capable of air base design, construction, and operation under wartime conditions.
Previously, Taylor was the Manager of Service and Design for Lafarge North America where he negotiated contracts for $45M in trucking yearly (50 specialized carriers) at 32 terminals across the Midwest and Northeast. He also developed the multi-modal, truck/ barge solution for the construction of the $4B Tappan Zee bridge. Before this, Taylor was the Regional Operations Manager for Matheson Tri-Gas where he molded 7 disconnected sites across 3 states into an integrated network with benchmark-setting performance. Railroad experience includes positions at Norfolk Southern and an industrial rail switching company.
Taylor is a registered professional engineer (CO) and is a graduate of Air Command and Staff College as well as the Squadron Officer School. He holds a masters degree in International Politics and Business from New York University and two Bachelor of Science degrees from The Ohio State University: Industrial and Systems Engineering and Business Administration with a focus on Logistics and Marketing.
David Steffens
David is an executive advisor with Caplogx and leads its data analytics practice. He was the primary data analyst for intermodal service development engagements with the Port of Mobile and Port of Philadelphia and recent inland port site selection project for a global intermodal terminal operator for new operations in Austin, TX.
Dave is an entrepreneur and business operator with 22 years of experience in founding and managing high-velocity start-ups in the Transportation and Logistics sector. In this capacity, David successfully led multiple internal buy/sell side transactions to both private equity and strategic buyers. His KTS start-up (now sold) consolidated log exports from Virginia, West Virginia, and Tennessee for containerization, quickly becoming one of the top-ten shippers through Virginia’s inland port at Front Royal. In all instances, David led new business operations to first year revenues to $10mm and grew operations to lower-mid market exits with terminal revenues more than $70M. Dave holds a BA in accounting from Rider University.
Will Maus
Frank Onimus
Frank is an Executive Advisor with Sitelogx and has held positions of VP of Market Strategy with CSX and Director of Intermodal Planning with CSX Intermodal. Frank is our lead analyst for the value analysis and operations planning for the Port of Long Beach Pier B Yard Project, which will more than double the on-dock rail capacity of the Ports of LA/LB. At CSX and Conrail he held responsibilities for fleet management, automotive operations, business planning, and terminal development.
At Conrail, Frank designed and implemented a terminal and network plan for the first double-stack intermodal service in the United States. Additionally, he led negotiation on the division of Conrail’s car fleet between Norfolk Southern and CSX and planned the post-sale Conrail switching operations to serve the Ports of New York-New Jersey and Philadelphia.
Frank is the founder of Horizon Management and since 2004 has advised transportation companies on intermodal, drayage, transloading, and terminal development projects throughout US, Canada, Mexico, and Europe. Frank holds both a BA and a master’s degree in business administration from Temple University.
Carl Belke
Carl has forty seven years of experience in the railroad industry in the areas of executive management, operations, engineering, marketing, strategic planning, government advocacy and public relations.
Carl has worked for the Delaware & Hudson Railway Company, Guilford Transportation, Canadian Pacific, Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railroad, the Genesee & Wyoming system of railroads and the Livonia, Avon & Lakeville/Western New York & Pennsylvania Railroad/B&H Corp. Railroads.
Carl is ending a second four year term as an Executive Board member and Eastern Region Vice President of the American Shortline Railroad Association (ASLRRA), is a current member of and former chairman of AREMA’s Committee 18 – ‘Light Density and Short Line Railroads’ and is a Board member of the Philadelphia Belt Line Railroad.
Having retired in June of 2018, Carl is currently consulting dba D&H Rail Consulting LLC and is an Executive Consultant with Sitelogx, Philadelphia, PA. He lives in Milford, NJ with his wife of 48 years, Lysanne.
